Daniel Kessler, Principal, and founder of Givon Advisors, Ltd., is a highly experienced and widely respected lawyer and expert in compliance and regulatory affairs.  He has over 25 years of in-house and private practice experience working with multinationals, bringing global compliance and regulatory expertise to companies operating in an international context, and providing advice on U.S. and European compliance issues Daniel possesses unique and well-rounded knowledge in this multi-faceted field.

Daniel has worked in many industries in addition to specializing in the Life Sciences (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, international public health). He has worked at or with such companies as American Home Products Corporation, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Gilead, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Neuroderm, Galenica, Vifor, Farmamondo, Iscar Ltd. (a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary), XPO Logistics, as well as a number of international organizations such as the International Committee for the Red Cross, Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative, The Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics.

    • Identifying and communicating the laws and regulations applicable to the organization’s businesses;
    • Designing, implementing and managing an organization’s international corporate compliance function across all business units;
    • Writing policies and procedures including an organization’s Code of Conduct and in specialized areas of anti-corruption, export controls, import compliance, economic sanctions, anti-boycott regulations, marketing practices;

Shuki Friedman

Dr. Shuki Friedman, Of Counsel with Givon Advisors, Ltd, is a law professor for international law at the Peres Academic Center in Rehovot, Israel. Dr. Friedman served as the head of International Law Department at the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel, where he worked extensively on regulatory and compliance issues. Among other projects, Dr. Friedman developed and oversaw, in consultation and cooperation with regulators in Israel and other countries, a major updating in the implementation of Israeli economic sanctions regimes. He served as the Prime Minister’s representative on the Israel’s Iran Sanctions Committee, which among other activities, recommended designations of foreign individuals and entities as ‘designated entities’ by Israeli Sanctions law.

Before joining Givon Advisors, Dr. Friedman worked as a VP Compliance at Terrogence Ltd. In recent years, alongside his work with Givon Advisors, Dr. Friedman led a number of large compliance projects in Israel and worked with the leading financial institutions, including Bank Hapoalim and Bank Leumi, as well as with companies in Israel and abroad.
